Javanese Gold Body Scrub

Javanese Gold Body Scrub:

YIELDS: 21 ounces

1⁄4 cup extra-virgin coconut oil

1⁄2 cup sweet almond oil

3 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 cup turbinado sugar

1⁄2 cup brown rice flour

2 teaspoons turmeric

* What you will need: blender, rubber spatula, mixing bowl, measuring cups, fork, jars and lids to fit 21 ounces of scrub

1. To Make: Place the coconut oil, sweet almond oil, honey, and sesame seeds into the blender. Blend until you have a creamy, uniform consistency. The sesame seeds will retain some texture. Using the rubber spatula, scrape the mixture into the mixing bowl. Add the turbinado sugar, brown rice flour, and turmeric, blending the ingredients together with a fork until well mixed.

2. To Store: Store this scrub in a sealed container in the refrigerator and use up within 3 months.

3. To Use: Apply to damp skin in small, upward, circular motions. Take the extra time to give yourself a nice massage while applying the scrub. Start with the legs and arms and make your way up to the torso, ending at your heart. Rinse well. For added benefit, leave on your skin for an additional 10-20 minutes before rinsing off.

You don’t usually need any additional moisturizer after using a body scrub, and your skin is left very soft and radiantly healthy.
