Fresh garden herbs are a real treat for your skin. They are chock full of vitamins and nutrients that carry a multitude of skincare and aromatherapy benefits. For this recipe you can use any culinary herbs or flowers you have on hand, such as rosemary, parsley, basil, sage, rose petals, lavender flowers, and others. Pick them fresh from your garden or use what you have in the fridge! In addition, sea salts gently slough off dull, dry, dead skin while re-mineralizing your system, plus they help preserve the fresh herbs for a longer shelf life for this scrub.

Herb Garden Body Scrub:

YIELDS: 16 ounces

1⁄2 cup freshly chopped herbs

1 cup sea salt

1⁄2 cup extra virgin olive oil

* What you will need: cutting board, knife, small mixing bowl, measuring cups, fork, jars and lids to fit 16 ounces of scrub

1. To Make: Place the chopped herbs, salt, and oil into a small mixing bowl. Blend the ingredients together with a fork until you have a uniform consistency.

2. To Store: Store this scrub in a sealed container in the refrigerator and use up within 3-4 weeks.

3. To Use: Use in place of a soap or body wash in your shower or bath. Apply to your skin in small, upward, circular motions. Massage the scrub in small circular motions, starting with the legs and arms, making your way up to the torso, ending at your heart. Rinse well.

This scrub has a vibrant herbal scent due to the high levels of vital plant essences that the fresh herbs contain. Choose your fresh herbs and begin by washing and thoroughly air-drying them. Then pick the leaves, discarding the woody stems, and finely chop them for a soft aromatic exfoliation.
